What a cute baby!
This is a Sneak peek of the new Spring Idea Book. I'm going to ask my daughter in laws if either one would like me to try to get the kids on the cover of a future book. They are all certainly cute enough and cover worthy. The only thing is, I'd also like to design the scrapbook page and I'm not sure they let just regular consultants do that. The front cover uses "new" product and papers that I wouldn't have access to. So it's one of those dreams.... The new papers and products go public January 1st! You'll be able to see the online version as soon as they get it up on the first. Believe me, you're going to love them! I'll be posting the new hostess rewards in another post. Hint: I'm going after the #4 reward this time as it"s the very best way to get all the new papers and embellishments for half price!

Repurposed furniture
I got the neatest piece of furniture today. My dear hubby brought it home from work as they wanted to get rid of it. He works at a school district and they have been remodeling the last 5 years. They have this strange idea that they should get rid of their solid wood old fashioned furnishings and replace them all with laminated pressed wood. Crazy, in my opinion but I'll take it! This was in the office and used as a mailbox. The metal label holders are still there. So after I cleaned it, I put some christmas things in it and later on when the weather gets warmer, I'll paint it. I'm so thrilled with it. What do you think? Did I score or what! I think there could be some really fun things to do with this. My mini albums will definately find a home here.
Not such a deal if.....
You get your sales slip out after you wrap the presents only to find out they charged you twice on one of the gifts. Do you, unwrap the gift and try to take it back to the store and explain that you got charged twice or do you say "bummer" and just forget about it! None of the above....you go to your blog and warn others to check over those slips because "tis the season" for salespeople slipups, don't ya know. Yes, I do know and whenever it happens to me, I feel really dumb because I should be checking! Now lets get into the part that irks me...all the time I waste wondering if they do this on purpose. Is it like their way to give themselves a tip....These Mervyn salespeople really have nothing to loose if they do decide to make a few extra bucks because they are out of a job on the 28th. Yes, in case you don't have a Mervyns in your town, they are one of the stores who is biting the dust this year. More stores to come in 2009. I have to be honest, I haven't really been a Mervyns shopper in a few years. I think 1994 was the last year, I seriously shopped there. By serious, of course, it still had to be on sale before I'd buy it. My Meryvns in 94-95 was within walking distance and I used to love to walk down there and shop for clothes. I have a funny memory too as at that time I was in the middle of some wicked hot flash action. I mean I was waking up at night soaked to the skin and having to change sheets and everything in the middle of the night. So there I was at Mervyns just fine one second, going thru the racks and the next minute I was soaked. This had never happened in the daytime before so I was thoroughly surprised. Needless to say, I left the store immediately, hoping no one noticed, and walked straight home.
This going out of business sale thing, has me wondering, does it hurt the other stores in the area that are trying to hold on? Is Target selling less now because people are at Mervyns loading up on stuff or is it hurting sales at Kohls even? By the time I shopped at Mervyns, they were pretty picked over but what if , people bought so many towels that they won't need to go to Kohls for a whole year now. So maybe, we shouldn't shop at stores that are going out...Afterall their future is sealed. We need to shop at the stores that are going to be around and help support them. Comments are welcome....

The information highway
This is an official Thankyou to all of you that log in to places on the net and leave your opinion. You have saved me much money and many heart wrenching experiences. Just recently I was wondering if the FDA approved drug alli would help me on my weightloss journey. Yes, i'm just like Oprah, just when I think I've conquered my dieting struggles...they are obviously Not conquered....like all addictions, so hard to keep hidden, lol. But anyway, back to alli...I found lots of regular and not so regular people who were forthcoming with their alli experiences...oh my, within 5 minutes of reading, I knew I was never going to buy and try that stuff. No longer are we hostage to what manufacturers want us to know about their product....When the people speak, it's honest and you can take them at their word. Yay people, take a bow! So now that I've saved $50, I have that money to spend right? Guess not, but I know, I'll be keeping the economy going...but with wiser choices as I continue to ask my forum friends their opinions. Thanks for listening!

Joining the blogging world
Well here I am, jumping into the bloggers world. It always takes me longer to actually do something that everyone else has been doing for years. I jump on the bandwagon after it's been tested many times and is already working for many people. Why did I finally do it after declaring myself a non blogger, you ask? Ahhhhhhhh it's the impersonalness (is that a word?) of blogging. Yes, I visit many blogs a day but rarely, if ever, comment. They may see that I've been there, but have no idea how what they have written, shared and shown has impacted me. My personal manners would have me stop and at least say Hi and thanks for all your effort in posting such a great idea or awesome thought but I go on my merry way, richer from their sharing, but not showing a bit of gratitude....You may do the same here. I don't deserve your recognition or whatever. So did I start a blog for recognition that I don't deserve? Nada. I started it because I would like to pay back a small fraction of what the bloggers have given me. So if you like papercrafts, stamping or scrapbooking, hopefully I'll post something one of these days that will make you go, oh that's cool and make your day better for it. Thanks for reading my very first post.
